British Values
Our British Values Statement:
East Peckham Primary School is a school for all. We value the diversity and backgrounds of all pupils, families and the school community.
We ensure that the fundamental British values are introduced, discussed and lived out through the ethos and life of the school. All curriculum areas provide a vehicle for furthering understanding of these concepts and in particular, our RE, SMSC, PSHE lessons provide excellent opportunities to deepen and develop understanding. Our curriculum approach is concept based meaning that concepts such as tolerance and respect are taught through the whole curriculum.
We aim to nurture our children on their journey through life so they grow into safe, caring, democratic responsible and tolerant adults who make a positive difference to British society and to the world. We recognise the multicultural, multifaith nature of the United Kingdom and understand the crucial role our school plays in promoting these values. We encourage our children to be creative, unique, open minded and independent individuals, respectful of themselves and of others in our school, our local community and the wider world.
