Sports Day the results
Winning the Sports Day Cup!
Clay Day!
You might think you were walking through the Tate Gallery if you could see inside East Peckham School at the end of term 5! The classrooms and corridors are filled with the most amazing artwork.
Last term the children in Lemurs created Andy Goldsworthy masterpieces, Otters honoured Lockdown Heroes Sandra Edmunds and David Boyle in the style of Kehinde Wiley. Meerkats painted beautiful pictures influenced by Monet. Rhinos became abstract artists and created some Kandinsky masterpieces. Penguins found out about Frida Kahlo and produced some wonderful portraits of the famous artist. Lions became graffiti artists and made some incredible self portraits influenced by Banksy. Finally Year 6 looked at the artist Ai Wei Wei recreating the urn smash and asking What is Art?
In term 5 the whole school took part in Clay Day where they made their faces from clay for a display.

Art in Dolphins class
Dolphins spent some time researching Ai Weiwei and his art collections across the world via Google Arts and Culture. We took a virtual tour inside Alcatraz Prison, San Francisco where in 2014 it housed some of his work.
We liked his Han Dynasty smashing pictures so created our own. On the plate we had a subject in the world we disagree with and show our disdain of the subject by smashing it.
