With the New National Curriculum coming into effect from September 2014 and taking into account feedback from children, parents and teachers, we have taken the opportunity to redesign the way we approach our curriculum planning.
We want our children to make meaningful links across subjects and skills to prepare them for the real world. Classes will work in phases where teachers can share knowledge and create the best opportunities for our children whilst still ensuring that there is progression of skills from year group to year group. This means that topics are shared across classes where the subjects from the National Curriculum will be covered in a cross-curricular manner.
At the end of each term, each class or pairs of classes will hold an end of topic event whereby they share their learning journey with their parents and carers.
Our Reception Class (Robins) have topics that are generated by the children's interests. Teachers follow the EYFS Statutory Framework and Development Matters documents for assessment and planning.
French is taught to all class in Key Stage 2.

These topics or content may change slightly through the year due to children's interests or the natural route of learning. If you have any questions about the curriculum in your child's class, please speak to their teacher.
